Aster Pharmacy Dubai: The First Green Pharmacy Concept for a Leading UAE Pharmacy Chain at One of Dubai’s Most Visited Shopping Malls

The challenge

The project for Aster Pharmacy, one of the UAE’s leading pharmacy chains, aimed to create the brand’s first Green Pharmacy concept within Deira City Centre, one of Dubai’s busiest shopping malls. The challenge was to design a pharmacy that would stand out in a highly competitive retail environment while creating a welcoming destination for customers. The space needed to balance commercial performance, operational efficiency, and patient experience, while expressing Aster Pharmacy’s commitment to health, sustainability, and innovation.

The solution

The design combines retail functionality with biophilic design principles to create a distinctive pharmacy experience. Natural wood, recyclable plexiglass, stabilized moss, bamboo lighting, clay finishes, and other sustainable materials establish a warm, nature-inspired environment that reinforces the Green Pharmacy concept.
A clear merchandising strategy, integrated digital communication, backlit category signage, and high-impact visual displays improve customer navigation and product visibility throughout the store. The layout enhances operational efficiency while creating an engaging retail environment that reflects Aster Pharmacy’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer well-being.
